UCP/A Policy Updates

Legislators, policymakers and other decision makers are starting to recognise and affirm the value of unarmed civilian protection and accompaniment as sustainable and effective approaches for the protection of civilians and prevention of violence. The community will continue to advocte collectively for increased funding and policy support for UCP/A as well as specifically, in some cases, for the needs of people with whom we partner.

  • Co-Hosted by the Permanent Missions to the United Nations of Costa Rica, the Netherlands, the Philippines and Sierra Leone plus Nonviolent Peaceforce, this event presented the practice of Unarmed Civilian Protection/Accompaniment as a proven, effective, affordable, and replicable approach for the protection of civilians and violence prevention that deserves greater policy recognition and funding support to the diplomatic and NGO communities of Geneva,.
